About This Site

Best of Crete is an independent affiliate guide and editorial publication about things to do in Crete, Greece — covering Knossos Palace, the Samaria Gorge, the Elafonissi and Balos beaches, Chania Old Town, Heraklion, and day trips to Santorini.

We are not a tour operator. All bookings are processed by GetYourGuide, our trusted booking partner. Each tour is operated by a separately-licensed local agency, guide, or transport provider. We earn an affiliate commission on bookings made through links on this site at no additional cost to you.

Booking & Cancellation

All bookings are handled by GetYourGuide. Cancellation, refund, voucher, and customer-service policies are set by GetYourGuide and the individual tour operator. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start time is offered on most tours but is not guaranteed for every product — always check the specific tour’s policy before booking.

Information Accuracy

We use data sourced from operators’ published descriptions, GetYourGuide listings, and publicly verifiable facts (geography, transport, opening seasons). We strive for accuracy but cannot guarantee that prices, schedules, availability, or operator details remain current — booking pages on GetYourGuide are always authoritative.

Liability

All participants join tours and activities at their own risk and must follow the safety instructions provided by the licensed tour guide or operator. Some Crete experiences involve physical activity — notably the Samaria Gorge, a 16 km mountain hike on uneven, rocky ground — as well as boat trips, swimming, and ferry crossings that may be affected by weather. Tour operators carry their own public-liability insurance — we are not liable for incidents during tours.
